Warning: This post contains spoilers from Season 6, episode five of Game of Thrones.
Summer is dead. Winter is officially coming.
During Season 6, episode five of Game of Throneswe lost not just one fan favorite character but twoadorable protectors of Bran. While Hodor's plight received most of the Internet's grief, the direwolf fandom has been up in arms over Summer's selfless act against the White Walkers that led to his brutal and untimely demise.
Let's all take a moment of silence for yet another Stark death on this show (and second this season!) -- one that could be even more profound considering Bran also used Summer to warg into.
Somewhere, Shaggydog, Grey Wind and Lady are welcoming this pup to their wolf pack in the sky.

Even PETA spoke out about Summer's death.
"Direwolves display the same loyalty to their human companions that so many animals do, so it's no wonder that viewers are saddened when one dies," PETA's senior vice president Lisa Lange told The Daily Newsin a statement.
